Our Initiatives

What we do

Saving Smiles in Africa™ is one of Kids Dental Home Foundation's purpose-driven initiatives, committed to transforming oral health outcomes for underserved communities across the continent.

Through outreach programmes, education, and access to essential dental care, we address critical gaps in prevention and treatment, empowering children and families to lead healthier, more confident lives.

Free Dental Surgeries

We provide fully sponsored dental surgeries for children suffering from severe dental decay, particularly those requiring treatment under general anaesthesia.

Our process includes:

  • Careful screening and patient selection
  • Hospital and university partnerships
  • Collaboration with volunteer dentists, anaesthetists, and healthcare teams
  • Full coverage of surgical and hospital costs for qualifying children

Each surgery restores more than teeth. It restores confidence, comfort, and the ability to eat, learn, and smile again.

Kids Dental Week

An annual high-impact outreach week in commemoration of the National Oral Month, where:

  • Multiple surgeries are performed in partnership with hospitals and universities
  • Preventive education is delivered to parents and communities
  • Oral health awareness is amplified through media and digital campaigns

Kids Dental Week serves as both a treatment intervention and an advocacy platform.

Preventive Education & School Outreach

Prevention is central to sustainability.

Through our Mobile Dental Clinic, we conduct:

  • School screening programmes
  • Oral health education workshops
  • Preschool mobile clinic visits
  • Parent awareness campaigns
  • Early intervention screenings

By addressing Early Childhood Caries (ECC) early, we reduce the need for hospital-based treatment.

Sing for Smiles

Launched where dentistry intersects with music, the Sing for Smiles Charity Concert transforms every voice, every song, and every act of generosity into restored smiles and brighter futures for children in need.

  • Our first concert was held in Pretoria with the renowned international children's choir Magaliesberg Kinderkoor and other local choirs
  • It raised awareness about Early Childhood Caries (ECC), a preventable disease affecting over 530 million children globally
  • Through music and community, we're restoring health, confidence, and dignity, one smile at a time
